Again it has been a while since I posted. I had this great plan to make Mondays "Marriage Mondays" and all my Monday posts would be on marriage. Well for the last 2 weeks I have been unavailable on Mondays to write a post. I do have a list of topics I'll cover at some point but not today.
The reason I was unavailable to Blog this Monday was due to a family need.
This Saturday my sisters dog went missing from a camp in the woods. He was missing for around 24 hours. During that time my sister was so sad and worried about him and I had to go be with her. So I packed up both my girls and had everything loaded in the car when we got word that the dog had been found. But I figured since I had already gone through the process of packing and loading the car, we might as well go anyway (it is about a 3 hour drive to where my family is). So I took the girls and we went. That was Sunday. Monday was my sisters Birthday so we got to celebrate with her and that was a blessing. She also got to see her 2 nieces and it had been a while .
Another blessing I got was to see my grandparents (and likewise they got to see their great-granddaughters). One of my Grandfathers went in for a hip replacement on Tuesday so we got to spend some time with him before his operation. My mom took the day "off" on Tuesday to go be with my Grandmother while she waited at the hospital for his surgery to be done.
So what is the point of my family "dramas" over the last week? The point is sometimes you just do what you gotta do for family. While I was sitting around worrying about my sister I asked my husband what I should do and he said "Let's go." Well he ended up staying since we both though it wouldn't make much difference to my sister either way. My mom took a day off, knowing she wouldn't get paid wand would have to make the work up on her evenings and weekends, to be with her family cause It's What You Gotta Do.
Remember that you family is important and when it comes to your family some times doing what you have to do isn't the easiest thing, the cheapest thing, the most enjoyable thing or the thing you would do, but it is what you should do. So a trip to visit my family ended up being a great few days for me and the girls and B got some extra work around the house done. I guess that is what they call a Win-Win.
